I have a question about having a low carb lifestyle for life. I've posted before and have mentioned that I have reactive hypoglycemia, and am unable to eat most carbohydrates (other than those found in nuts and low carb veggies) because the destabilize my blood sugar. Since I've been eating this way for about 6 months, I have lost the 20 lbs I wanted to lose, and am now at my perfect weight (yay!) :)...the only question I have is will my weight loss continue if I continue to eat this way or does your body plateau eventually? I don't want to lose anymore weight.

I am going to consult a Dr. as well considering I have to eat this way because of health reasons, but I was curious to see if any of you have any info on this issue.

Here is what I eat in a day:

4-5 hard boiled eggs
2-3 chicken breasts (once a week I will have some red meat instead)
Cheese
Almond Pancakes (ground almonds and flax seeds mixed with eggs)
Broccoli
Salad and other veggies
Handful of walnuts occasionally

LOTS of water!

Any suggestions?

Even though you haven't read DANDR, it's never to late to read it, especially the new edition. He explains the process thoroughly, do's and don'ts and how to truly make lifetime maintenance work.

Tweaking maintenance is like tweaking any part of the program. Incorporating higher carb vegetables - tomatoes for example - on a frequent basis and a few more higher carb nuts and dairy products may do the trick. You are smart not to want to upset the physical balance you have achieved.

It stands for Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution. It's used frequently here... like WOE and WOL!

I have hypoglycemia aswell. I wonder if U were to eat more frequently to keep your blood sugar level. What about trying chromium, or l-glutamine? They can help to regulate blood sugar aswell.

My blood sugar is stable almost all of the time so that's not a problem, because I eat constantly throughout the day, I never go more than an hour without eating something. It seems like the more stable my blood sugar is, the easier it is for me to lose weight.

The list of food above is consumed throughout the entire day.

Thank you for your suggestion :)

I am already taking chromium picolinate, along with a few other supplements, I think they aided in my weight loss and blood sugar stabilization.
