This is not my first time losing weight, so I already know that the next 10 pounds I lose will bring dramatic changes to my body. Unfortunately, I don't like these changes. I will lose a lot of lower body weight (the last place I lose is my upper body). Right now, at a bit under 180, I'm balanced looking. I wear a size 12 on the bottom, a size 16 on the top. At 170, I'll most likely be a size 6 on the bottom, and still a size 16 on top.

All I can say is UGH. Whenever I get this low, I give up because it feels like I will never lose my upperbody weight. I'm planning on pushing through an additional 10 pounds this time, but I really HATE my body. I am envious of pear shaped and hour glass women. I am not even apple -- I'm a cone. And it's about to be greatly exaggerated!

It's so interesting to hear about different people's body types. I am on the same boat as you, except that I am exactly the opposite of you- I lost all my weight up top and in the middle first. You can literally see my sternum and thoracic cavity/ ribs if I wear a low cut/ tight top. Bottom half? Heh. That's what I'm currently trying to work on. I guess we just have to deal with what we were handed as best we can... even if we don't like it :agree:

Hah, good point. My husband is built like me, small hips, broad shoulders, but it looks FAR better on a man :D But you are so right -- there is not much I can do about it, so I may as well look as good as I can. My younger daughter is also cone shaped, but it looks good on her since she is pure muscle. My older daughter is hour glass, so even though she's prone to be heavy, she just looks very curvy.

No matter how much we wish it wasn't so, in some ways we will always be slaves to genetics :bash:
