Ok, well, let me just say that 5 years ago when I started on this journey and was > 200 lbs, I had people ask me all the time about my pregnancy. There wasn't a pregnancy, but they asked anyway.

I lost weight and got down to 135 lbs. Everytime I met someone new, you guessed it, they asked me when my baby was due. Still not pregnant.

So, I bit the bullet and scheduled an appointment with a plastic surgeon. I'd ripped my rectus abdominus muscle apart when I was pregnant with the twins and no amount of diet/exercise was going to help.

I saved my money for 2 years and had a tummy tuck. I was VERY pleased with the results at first. I thought I looked great. I had a nice flat tummy. Then about 6 months later I asked my dd if she thought my tummy was "sticking out" further, and she agreed it was. I saw the plastic surgeon 3 more times and complained, and he just po pood me. Well, he's left town.

I've maintained my weight within 7 lbs of the time I had the tummy tuck so it's not like I gained 35 lbs and stretched everything out.

Yesterday I was at work. A clients mom that I've seen multiple times in the past was there with her daughter. I walked thru the group home and mom asked, "You aren't pregnant again, are you?" OMG!!!! I wanted to bawl. What's a girl to do?

I'm so sorry this happened to you, especially after paying for a tummy tuck, I never ask anyone if their pg even if I think its really obvious. This has also happened to me, and I have never been pg.

I'm so sorry that happened to you!

I really don't feel comfortable commenting on someone elses pregnancy, and I'll never assume pregnancy even when the 'shape' seems obvious. The client's mom should have kept her trap shut, IMO. I don't even comment when someone used to be pregnant by their admission and isn't anymore. What if they miscarried? Talk about awkward, so I don't bring it up unless they do somehow!

Did the surgeon say that it would be a possibility that you would revert partially back to your old shape? I'd be really upset about it after spending a lot of money for surgery. If you have measurements before surgery, post surgery healing and now - maybe you could go into the office and compare them with your measurements now, so that you have some hard numerical data to bring with you.

Can you sue? I'm sure some lawyer in town would help you track him down.

It definately sounds like a medical problem and fee so bad for you that you went thru the surgery only to have it return. Abdom. surgeries are painfull-had several and the thought that only a few years later it has returned has to be unbearable. Not to mention asking if your pregnant. I can't belive people are doing that. I can relate in a way, it has nothing to do with my weight, but had surgery in April that left me with a horribly long scar. Ran into someone today, looked at me and asked what the heck happened, and reached out and touched me. I couldn't belive it. It hurts to have your personal space violated and have a constant painfull reminder from idiots who open their mouth. I would go to see a dr, another. Do some research again and really look into it. Get their opinion as to what has happened and what they could do about it. Also, if the surgery has failed than you have every right to go hunt that dr down or have a lawyer do so and sue them.
