I have arthritis in my fingers which is quite painful at times.Will whey protein powder(dairy )have a negative effect on arthritis?I konw that a number of doctors(Weil,Mcdougall,Barnard etc.) suggest arthritis sufferers avoid dairy products to alleviate symptoms.Any feedback would be appreciated!

I also have arthritis and it was really under control, I started drinking protein drinks and it flared up. I don't know if this is the reason or not. I read in prevention magazine that if you have an autoimmune disease you shouldn't use whey protein. I stopped using it and I am going to ask my specialist about it this week.
I don't have any problems with other dairy products.
