as someone who very rarely gets sick, i'm wondering if i should ride this out or call the doc? i know i need to make sure i rehydrate myself, but is there a public health concern (food safety issue) or does this just sound like something unfortunate?

last night i got up at 11 pm (for the first time) to, erm, evacuate my system of anything and what i thought was everything it contained. then again at 3 am, then again at 4:45. during each instance, i got really shaky and profusely sweaty all over (head, hands, legs). i slept until after noon.

any suggestions welcome.

Just sounds like a nasty stomach flu. Here in Germany people would drink black tea (no milk) with sugar and "Zwieback", which are rusks. In Ecuador they recommended bananas, yoghurt and warm Coke for Montezuma's revenge. Not low carb, but, to be honest, when I have felt like you do, LC goes out the window till I'm well again.

If you don't feel better in a day or so, go to the Doc's. But I think you'll be fine - it sounds like all the nasties must be out of your system anyway!

Get better soon,

amanda

thanks :) i guess i'll see how things progress and do what feels right as far as eating and deal with any consequences in time.

Sounds like a good strategy to me!

Hope you're feeling somewhat better...
