I have found in the past three days that I'm getting a lot more hair in my comb in the am than I'd like to see. I am wondering if I could be getting too few calories? I eat mostly meat and fat and my appetite seems content with that. I used to put a sample menu in My Plan and back then it seemed a little low but alright. I think I do with less food now, but I'm not starving myself.
What do you guys think? Could it be just because I'm 38 years old and getting older is the reason? I suppose it could be some seasonal thing...

I'm decided to begin entering my daily menu and see what my calorie intake really is...and if it's low to try to eat more. I can control that, at least.

Oh...and two days ago I had the worst leg cramps ever!!!! In that instance I think I was dehydrated, because as soon as I hobbled over to the sink for water, I felt better.

I put what I've eaten today and plan to eat into My Plan and get about 1720 calories. That doesn't seem too low.
I wonder what else could be going on?

I too have suffered hair loss, although thankfully it isn't apparent to other people. Patty, another forum member, has told me that she loses hair whenever she loses a substantial amount of weight, regardless of whether she's on a low-carb diet, or a different one. I think it is a common problem - perhaps this thread in a different section of this forum might help :

Good luck

I had suffered from this from Novemeber until April! I went to about 3 different specialists. I had blood work done, nothing. I started taking Biotin, pre-natal along w/my the Omega's. Finally, after 6mos. it has stopped shedding. I lost about 20% of my hair. But thankfully its growing back. Do not stress yourself out as I did, it will eventually stop. Hormones, dieting, thyroid, genetics. Mine was an unknown factor since my test results were all negative. I think your wayyyyyyy too young to be saying its your age:)

Yes, a drastic change in diet, or addition of new stress can cause hair to fall out for a time. But don't worry, it will stop at some point (tho you worry that it won't). Your body just needs to adjust to the change and it will be okay again. You have a lot more hair than you think. It just looks scary when you see it in your comb or all over your sink. Unless you have some medical condition or a medication that causes this, it will pass. Try not to worry.
