Hello everyone, this may be kinda long :( sorry.

I started doing protein power, hardcore to the T last week Friday. Prior to beginning this I was excercising 5X weekly. I do aerobics and resistance training as well as squeeze in long walks os use my treadmill on the off days. I decided on low-carb because I was miserably hungry on lowfat/low cal as well as not losing anything! Not even inches!

Okay #1. When I first started last Fri. my weight was 160-
my measurements were at that time:
Bust 41
Waist 35.5
Ab 42
Thighs 23,25
Hips 40

This mornings weigh-in 161.8, however my measurements are now:

Bust 38 1/2
Waist 34 1/2
Ab 38
Thighs 20,22
Hips 38

They weigh and measure at the health facility I attend! Can this really be true after gaining nearly 2 lbs.??!

I keep a strict food diary-watch my carbs which average 25 daily. Do not drinks diet soda's etc..................hmmm what gives???

PS You are all awesome and a great source of information!!! :daze:

hi Jeanner,

You'll find your answer on page 140 of Protein Power. The Drs. Eades state:If you are just monitoring your weight on the scales and you seem stuck, you may be recomposing your body by gaining muscle weight as you lose fat. If you gain several pounds of muscle because you're exercising while at the same time you lose several pounds of fat, your weight on the scales doesn't change, but your size sure does! People who've been on a low fat diet for a long time and who are protein deficient sometimes gain a few pounds of muscle simply from the decent amounts of protein they begin eating.Congratulations on your fat and inches lost .. and the muscle gained :D

Phase One of the Protein Power program is 30 grams of effective carbs per day, divided as 7 to 10g per meal and planned snacks. You may wish to bump your carbs up a bit, since you're having good success .. and especially if you're exercising.
