and I am so much slimmer than I see myself in the mirror! I am 5ft1 and 140lbs so definitely overweight but I looked normal! I was dreading seeing myself but I didn't have a double chin that I can see in the reflection of my computer screen, nor big fat cheeks! Even my body looked ok, if I saw myself I wouldn't have thought I had a weight problem so why do I look gross in the mirror? I never let my husband see me get changed and I wont go swimming with my daughter. I never thought I had a bad self image but since giving birth 2½ years ago I just feel gross :( Does anyone else feel the same?

yes, I put on almost 20 pounds over the last 5 months, and I feel like a slob. I've been emotionally, and junk food binge eating. My clothes don't even fit, but I refuse to buy new ones. Everyday I try to start my diet over, but fail when I crave a sweet or just get hungry. I hate the way my body looks in the mirror, and I have been avoiding going out socializing also.

Sorry to hear you feel so bad, good news is as you put the weight on recently I am guessing it will come off easier than stubborn fat that has been clinging for years! Have you tried having some safe sweet things on hand to help you stay on track? I know some say you have to do a clean induction but if it helps you to stay away from carbs then I don't see the harm in sugar free soft drinks and desserts, I have started drinking Pepsi Max and it has really helped me. I even add SF vanilla syrup and cinnamon to my omlettes as I was getting sick of eggs, I then cook it in coconut oil and it is sweet and delicious ;)

Awww *hugs you two*
I know exactly what you mean. I'm also still overweight but I recently saw myself in pictures standing by some thin girls and I thought I didn't look nearly as fat as I saw myself in the mirror.
Every now and then I'll catch my reflection in something and think I'm actually not so bad but when I look in the mirror, ugh. My thighs in particular are a disheartening sight. I won't let my boyfriend see me naked >_< The way I see it, I'll always be fat whatever my body really looks like because that's the only way I know to see myself. I've been working on modifying my perceptions for a while now. I constantly have to remind myself that I'm not nearly as big as I think and that I am physically attractive and it's ok for me to flirt and all that.
It's not easy but my self-esteem's gotten much better (and I didn't even know I had issues before :) Not really)

Thump, sorry to hear you are the same, I didn't think I had a problem but since having my daughter I just detest my body and considering I had a section I haven't done to badly, no overhang, no lose skin and only one stretch mark but my waist is so much thicker now, I have always had an hourglass figure no matter what size I was but now having a wider waist I just look so unshapely :(
Congrats on your weightloss, I bet you look fabulous! Go out and flirt and enjoy your success ;o)

I so get this! I am right there with ya! On those days when I "feel' sexy ~ I avoid the mirror at all costs!
