I've been told that CO will heal scars. Anyone here have this experience? My seventeen year old daughter has some acne scarring. If it works, how long should we expect it to take?

Scars not sure, I have one left on my leg from a bike pedal ill try applying more often on that.

For me CO has helped clear most skin lesions or bumps, even sun damage on my face cleared up without freezing. I expect bid application for 2 - 3 months will help greatly. It also helps knee or foot problems like dry skin calluses and cracking.

Ok...dumb question...
How do you apply it?

I mean...if I put anything on my foot, it will end up all over the house.
Do you just apply it and put a sock over it?
Or do you keep rubbing it in until it is absorbed?
???

I don't use straight oil on my feet, but on my face and shoulders. But, when I do put coconut oil lotion on my feet, the bottle says to wait for a few minutes to sink in, since there is no alcohol, before putting anything on. So, I lotion up my feet, lotion up everything else and then put socks on. That is how I would do the straight oil too.

I've used CO for years as a moisturizer. I have scars on my body and they're still there. Any new cuts, etc. seem to heal much faster though. This link may give some ideas for acne scarring (you may have already found it yourself too!): http://dermatology.about.com/cs/acnescars/a/acnescars.htm

Kelp or Iodine is supposed to help with scarring but I just ordered it so I can't say if it will work. I'm going to try it on my arms first! I got the colorless iodine... There were a lot of posts on earthclinic about curing moles and scarring...both of which I have!
