I have spent the last couple of days really researching and trying to learn about SB. I still have a couple of questions

1. Cheese, many of you count your cheese towards your two cups dairy right? Would that mean if you have two ounces of cheese your remaining dairy would be one cup 6 ounces?

2. I see a lot of people talking about dark chocolate. I always had a square or two of lindt 85% when I was on Atkins. On SB is it better to eat the kind with sugar alcohols? If I eat regular on SB would that be instead of my "sweet treat" or does it count towards nuts?

3. I am still confused about salad dressing. So if I have two tablespoons of salad dressing, I cannot have any other oil during the day, is that including cooking spray(pam)?

Thanks for all of your help. I don't know why this is so confusing to me.

2 cups = 16 ozs in my meauring cup. ;) 2 ozs cheese would leave me with 14 ozs of other dairy ( or 1 cup + 6 ozs)for the day.

Nuts are a separate item(nothing to do with sweet treat) and we are allowed 1 serving of nut or seeds per day. The list gives you amounts for each.
3. I am still confused about salad dressing. So if I have two tablespoons of salad dressing, I cannot have any other oil during the day, is that including cooking spray(pam)?
Use your judgement about this....2 tbs dressing on your salad and I also use evoo in my cooking, olives and evoo and avocados in my salads. LOL...maybe I need to cut back!!

Try not to worry about it being confusing at first. Switching is confusing as we all get used to doing things a particular way. It will take just a couple fo weeks of eating this way and then you will be fine. :agree:

You don't really mean that you expect to eat 16 ozs of cheese per day, do you? seriously, 2 ozs cheese max per day .....especially at your current weight.

See the food lists for other dairy than just yogurt. Cottage cheese, ricotta, all are dairy too.

I count all cheeses in with my dairy totals daily. I also count the H&H that goes into my coffee.

Also, eventhough we are allowed up to 2 cups of dairy daily, I never use it all up.
