Don't know that I am still considered a newbie but I figured this would be a good place to ask my questions so other newbies get the answers as well.

For some reason when I use the search I just can't seem to find what I am looking for... ... yes I am impatient as well.

My questions are easy:
#1 whats M & E mean exactly?
#2 when someone is saying IMO what the heck are they saying?? ... I even pulled my kids in a few times to help me disipher some of this forum talk!!!
#3 where can I find info on safe fasting and what are they considering fasting? (I have in the past but never too successfully)

Thanks in advance!!!

#1.) M & E refers to meat and eggs but exactly what it entails I cannot tell you because I've never personally done it myself. I would like to think it is self-explanatory and refers to basically eating meat and eggs for a few days with some veggies thrown in but I may be wrong. In the past, I have seen people use M & E to see if they can get their bodies to start losing again.

2.) IMO - In My Opinion

3.) Safe fasting? Not sure if you're refering to IF (Intermittent Fasting) but quite a few people practice it on here because they say it controls their BS (Blood Sugars). It's basically fasting for so many hours and then eating your meal within a certain time frame. Not sure what the time frame is where you can eat but the "fasting" part differs from person to person. Some people go 6 hours without eating, others 8, some 12, etc., etc. I think it's best to start off with a lower amount of fasting hours though and gradually increase if you plan on doing IF'ing. Personally, if I go too long without eating, I tend to get shaky and lightheaded and it's usually at that point where I'll grab something I shouldn't be having so....sadly, IF'ing is not for me.

Anyway, I hoped this helped somewhat. I believe there is a link on here somewhere which explains low carb lingo. Hopefully someone will come along and tell exactly where to find the link though beacause I have no idea of where it is.

Click here (http://www.lowcarb.ca/tips/tips003.html) to read a list of the most common acronyms used on this Bulletin Board.

I think you may be asking about Intermittent Fasting. You can find information about it by clicking here (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=373911&highlight=Intermittent+Fasting).

#3 where can I find info on safe fasting and what are they considering fasting? (I have in the past but never too successfully) I'm currently reading "The Warrior Diet" by Ori Hofmekler. I just checked it out from the library 'cause I just wanted to get more info on the IF (intermittent fasting). I can recommend the book as to technique. (keep in mind, it's not low carb, but you could just make that adjustment yourself), but I have never done it, so I cannot recommend it in practice yet.

I also don't think it should be done low carb unless you are seriously an old pro at low carbing. Otherwise, I think it would become a spiraling circle (IMO) ;)

If you go to the green bar on the top of the page, click on "tips" and scroll all the way down the page to "low carb lingo", it will give you a list of abbreviations. :D

Thanks all I figured there was a link but I darn sure couldn't find it...

I just was thinking yesterday that about 10 years ago when I was at my healthiest weight I used to only eat dinner. Of course it was not really a planned thing I was going through a divorce, going to school and had 3 kids so it just kinda happened that way. No at this stage in the game I am not planning on fasting but now I do know when I skip a meal as long as I make a good choice when I do eat it will not be the end of the world for me.
