I think im not eating enough fat. And i wouldnt mind trying to snack at work, but i cant think of anything high fat low carb that i could eat in the office without causing a mess. Any suggestions would be great.

Cheese is great..also pepperoni sticks. I bring hardboiled eggs too. Sometimes I will bring some ham or turkey and spread cream cheese on it. Those are pretty much my staple snacks that I have at work.

I bring ham pieces, sometimes pepperoni sticks (don't like them that much), eggs. My local Publix has a low carb spinach dip that I adore and try to smear on anything and everything (!), so I'll sometimes bring that to work, but like you said it's hardly "neat."

Almonds and peanuts are also good choices, if you're eating nuts or legumes. Just watch out for serving sizes as these are VERY concentrated foods and it's easy to pack in too many carbs and calories.

HB eggs
cheese
coffee with plenty of cream
diet soda with cream (careful, it does bubble over!!!)- tastes like a float
nuts
celery with peanut butter
turkey/mayo roll ups
crudites and spinach, blue cheese or artichoke dip

Good luck!

You could always bring a carton of heavy cream for your coffee- loaded with fat. :)

I love you all so much. Robin, the thing you said about cream in diet soda, that actually made me tear up with joy. It's a really yummy treat! Most often, people suggest adding cream to diet root beer, but I also like it in diet orange soda or diet raspberry soda. Tastes like Creamsicles! :yum: :yum: :yum:

I like to microwave pepperoni slices till they are crisp and snack on them. I think one serving on the pack is 14. That is plenty to have to curb your hunger.

So I take it you're not referring to the fluffy, orange, HFCS-loaded circus peanuts...

I love the cream cheese muffins. I posted the recipe in the other "what can I have for snacks" thread. The full fat cream cheese is what you want to use.....I also like dipping the pepperoni chips (made in the microwave) in cream cheese. Very tasty!! Usually all I need to "snack on" in the afternoon is a cup of coffee loaded with heavy whipping cream. Really helps me cope when the kids are scarfing down on their after school treats when they get home at 3PM.

I have replaced my skinny cinnamon dolce latte run with a cappuccino breve (steamed half and half) and a little splenda. Its creamy and rich and keeps me feeling full while I'm in class. Of course, I haven't looked up the carbs in a breve... Anyone know?

ROFL!! Nope, not those - thanks though, I needed a giggle today. Man, I haven't eat thought about those orange things in YEARS - do they still MAKE those?

Seriously, though, the circus peanuts are good for office snacks - they're a bit messy, but when I'm eating them I always suddenly gain "friends" - everybody wants a handful!

Just got a chance to look up nutritional info on starbucks.com, they don't have the breve listed, but I did see that a tall cafe au lait half drip coffee and half steamed milk) with whole milk and sugar free syrup has 7 grams of carbs. Nice occassional treat. I'm still curious about the breve, though.
