I was on the atkins last week. I was on 3 weeks and didnt lose any weight and got very discouraged and cheated. But today is a new day and im giving it one more shot. Hope it works this time, its so hard to find fast food when you work during the day..ugg

Welcome back!
It sounds to me like you need to plan better. If you can't find LC foods while out and about, you'll need to pack stuff from home. It may be too late to do that for today's lunch, but perhaps you can go shopping after work and get yourself set up for the rest of the week. Will you have time to go to a supermarket at lunchtime, rather than a fast food place, so you can get something like a can of tuna, a small package of mayo, and a bag of lettuce?
I wonder what was going on last time you tried Atkins for 3 weeks. You must have been eating something that stalled you, or too many calories, or too few- but the most likely culprit would be "hidden carbs" in foods you expected to be low-carb.

I agree with Ruth. Do you have a fridge in the office? Can you make meals ahead on the weekends and throw them into tupperware for the week's lunches?? Maybe some pre-made portable snacks like Cheese sticks?

Yea, i think i will go home and cook up some chicken and make up some lunches tonight. And today ill just have a burger with no bun or something. Not sure what went wrong on this diet before, i thought i was doing it by the book. The only thing i thought it could be was that i wasnt eating enough. But maybe ill have better luck this time around.

Crystal, I see you weren't experiencing great results weight wise but were you noticing any improvements elsewhere? Better sleep, looser clothes, no indigestion, fewer cravings, less hunger??

hey crystal , welcome back.
Do you think you could post a normal days worth of meals?? Maybe we could make some suggestions for you based on that info. And remember to post everything you consumed. Even drinks and snacks, or little treats. Be as honest as possible and lets see if we can help

Go shopping and load up on LC stuff (meat, eggs, cheeses, heavy whipping cream, etc) so you can have that on hand and be more motivated to not quit. "Hey since I bought this stuff I might as well use it" attitude.
Hang in there hon!

For breakfast yesterday i had. One egg and a small porkchop with water, for a snack in the afternoon. 2slices of roast beef and a cheese stick, with a glass of instant tea with sweet and low. For lunch a piece of grilled chicken. For dinner a medium sized piece of steak with tea. Then 2 cups of coffee. My choices have been pretty spontaneous, I think i need a planned menu but i cant cook at work. Not sure what i can eat here thats quick.

i cant cook at work. Not sure what i can eat here thats quick. You need to take food with you to work. There are pretty little lunch kits you can buy that have separate sections to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. Check Amazon; they have almost everything!
Then, you'll need some recipes. Check out our Kitchen forum (http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=2), Linda Sue's site (http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html) and Cleochatra's blog (http://cleochatra.blogspot.com/) for some yummy ideas!

Let me share something I have learned about myself during this journey. I no longer really "feel" hungry, so I often don't know when my body needs fuel ~ unless I set planned meals for certain times. Instead of my tummy growling or making noices, even feeling cramped, I begin to think " Screw it! I will just eat whatever!". NOT! THAT is myhungry cue, and i better eat something very lc quick. When you start to have "cravings" or want to give in, maybe just eat a small slice of cheese, or some meat. Even a veggie w/ some cream cheese. Point is... dont give up so easily.
