I have found a GREAT food. I am not sure it is allowed in Phase One. And I think it might be difficult to keep the portion under control. The food is Trader Joe-San Green Beans "Lightly Salted Crunch Green Beans". They are dehydraded Green Beans.

The ingredients listed are Green Beans, Canola Oil, Dextrin (Tapioca Starch) and salt. They are awesome for a crunchy salty snack if you crave or enjoy chips. The serving size is 3/4 cup. The calories are 130 Fat 4.5g, Fiber 4g, Sugars 5g (but I don't know where the sugar comes from).

Does anyone think these are okay for a snack?

I don't know - the tapioca starch might be a problem??? Since there is no added sugar listed in the ingredients, I'm thinking the 5g sugar probably occurs naturally in the green beans.

They sound yummy. Maybe they would be OK as a once-in-a-while kind of thing, but not every day, I'm guessing. And probably not at all in Phase 1. Judy?? What do you think???

I love Trader Joe's. They have some good stuff there.

If they did not have the tapioca starch, I'd say it'd be OK for phase I. But with it, I'd say hold off until phase II.

Is this something that you could eat 3/4 cup and stop? If not be careful.

How about fresh green beans? :D Steamed, sauteed?
