OK, live-cultured plain yogurt is supposed to keep yeast infection away - right? Is there anything else? Cranberries? (or is that for urinary tract?) This whole yeast infection thing is so new to me & I've read a ton of 'general info' on the net but don't seem to find the answers to my questions there. So I come here, where I know I can count on someone to help me out! Thanks.

We get pure cranberry juice concentrate. It's just about the only juice we drink. We make it very dilute - I noticed the other day that the bottle says it has 4 servings in it - it lasts us about 50 servings!

Coconut oil is good.

Yogurt has probiotics, but it also still has lactose, which can make matters worse. The Specific Carbohydrate Diet includes a 24-hour yogurt which is supposed to be more fully fermented, but for myself I avoid all dairy. You can get your probiotics from homemade fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi or brine pickles, and you can make your own yogurt from soy or coconut milk.

Sauerkraut takes a very long time but it's so worth it. I recommend starting some now and looking for other sources of probiotics for the next 2 or 3 months while it does its thing.
