Hello! I am new on this list. Quick intro:
I have been quite ill for years, in bed about three years total. Am now on low carb diet, but do eat lentils and beans. I take CandidaRx, which cleared my brain, and oliveleaf extract, which gave me more energy. However, I am still far from normal, always tired, often can't sleep, and some eczema.

Q1: My doctor (one of them) recommended probiotics as well. I read an article about some that doesnt actually contain the live bacteria at all. She suggested lactobacillus GG from Allergy research. I see Lain strongly recommends another type. Anyone knowledgeable of what is good to take?

Q2: Another doctor says Ok to eat chocolate with 70%cocoa. I still react a bit, but less than when I started doing lowcarb. I know chocolate beans are fermented to make them tasty. Maybe I should only drink boiled chocolate milk?

And SNACK ADVISE: Now and then I eat papadam, Indian lentil snacks. Here i buy them dried in immigrant stores. With a good microwave you can just smear some oil on both sides. Also I eat popped wild rice with chili, a sprinkling of sugar (three grains) and possibly cinnamon.

Tove - welcome to the forum! I'm truly sorry that you are so terrible ill. There are probably as many "Candida diets" as there are Candida sufferers. But, several basic tennets emerge from all the forums and all the opinions. Stay away from sugar, vinegar, yeast, and things that contain mold (i.e. aged cheeses, mushrooms, chocolate and caffeine items like coffee and tea). I'm not sure about the lentals for Candida, but I don't think they fit into the low carb plan. Probiotics are a good thing and should help your immune system help you fight the Candida and get back on top. There are a lot of good forums on the internet that deal with Candida, and a lot of good information in those forums. One that I found particularly helpful candidaforum.com. I wish you strength to fight your battles!
