I was planning on a completely low carb pregnancy and it has been soooo hard! I have been so tired and nauseous that all I want to eat is comfort food. I have gained 3 pounds so far....water weight and feel like a cow!

Does anyone have any advice??? What did you do when you were pregnant and in this situation?

Hi there, the best thing to do is try to eat nutritiously, even if not totally low carb. Stay away from nutrient-sucking white flour and sugar. Try to get your protein, maybe later in the day when you can stomach it.

Good luck, and focus on your and the baby's health, not weight.

Focus on the baby, and do the best you can to eat healthy. :)

I stuck with low carb maintenance for the first half of my pregnancy, but then gradually started adding in "carb up" cheat days (which I never do when dieting). I put on about a kg a week doing 1 day of free eating, but I have to admit, I did overeat. Still, my gain was less than previous pregnancies.

Thanks for your support and advice...

I am going to try again today - I am going to eat low carb, plus oat bran, blueberries and an orange!
