I always do this to myself and the thing is everyone expects it to happen! up and down, up and down, thats my life. I just wanted to put it here that Im trying again to get on track. thanks for listening.

Good Luck to you, and you aren't alone we all did this to ourselves. Enjoy the forum, you will see most of us have similar issues with food........emotional eating.
I felt hopeless to when I first started, fell off the wagon many times........one day at a time!
Best of luck
Smile you are gonna make it

Dust yourself off, clean up the kitchen so it's only got LC choices and jump back on the wagon.
You can do this!

Your DH is eating cheesecake to save you from it..... if he eats it, it's gone and you won't be tempted.
Ok, so that was lame but I'm trying for ya!!!

I used to have that kind of influence around me; Then my girlfriend started to low-carb with me. Perhaps it is time to go spanish-inquisition on your husband? ;)

My husband eats cookie dough right next to me! I've gone on and off, lost and gained, lots of times. When I do eat well (and knock on wood I'm on a role), is when I think of how healthy I am. If I eat the cookie dough, I'll get a rush of dopamine which will make me feel good and want more-bad news. The excess insulin that my body is oh so sensitive to now will cause super power fat storage, inflammation, bloating, etc. Then all that extra glucose floating around in my bloodstream attaches to things like LDL (bad cholesterol) and makes the LDL lipoprotein a BAD one. If the sugar hadn't attatched to the LDL, everything would have been fine because the LDL would just circulate until it was used or reabsorbed by the liver.
So the cookie dough sugar contaminates the LDL and little guys called macrophages (they're gonna clean up the contaminated LDL) come along and gulp it up. The problem is they keep gulping up more and more contaminated LDL and form these big huge macrophages full of contaminated cholesterol lipoproteins. These big huge macrophages are what gets stuck in your arteries and cause atherosclyrosis (sp?).
Sorry I'm not a doc by any means so I don't know how to spell everything, but that's the jist of it. That's just one thing all the sugar affects. The best way to keep yourself on track is to gets lots of info on understanding how your body reacts to carbohydrates.

I too have a husband that loves to eat crap food in front of me and the kids.
I always refer to the "you can be a skinny fat person" theory. He usually puts the junk away at that point as he has been gaining a belly lately. He just turned 30 :)

Have you tried making Bawdy's lc cheesecake? It is truly excellent and I bet your husband won't even know it's low carb. And the best part is, you can indulge also once you get past induction.

I wish I knew how to post a link here but sadly, I'm computer illiterate and don't know how to do things like that...... :(.
You can, however, go to the "sweet treats" forum and where it says "search this thread", type in Bawdy's Cheesecake and it will pull the thread up for you. It is really really good and you (or DH) will never think you're eating a lc cheesecake.

I thought I was alone with this. I did great on atkins for 2 years, dropped over a hundred lbs. I have now gained almost half of it back. I am also kicking myself over and over because everyone told me that it would happen, that I would fall of eventually and ruin my results..that you cant live on atkins the rest of your life (thats what they told me). I don't understand why its so hard to get on atkins this time and stick to it..all I can think is that its because the lbs do not come off as quickly as it used to-the first time I would loose 7-10 lbs a week..now after all the abusing the "system" i was lucky to drop 2lbs or so at a time. Anyway, I am determinded to find out just why I do this-the emotional eating is the root of this entire thing. I know that I also did this to myself, just like when I lost all the lbs the first time-I did that to myself too. Good luck. Hope your doing well now.

Listen, dont worry about what others say, they dont live your life. Right now Im embarrassed to see my relatives on Christmas because a few months ago when i saw them i was a lot lighter and now i dont feel so pretty if you know what i mean...but....at least i keep trying!!!!! and you are too!!!! some people never try to do anything about their weight but they love to critize others!!! And if theyre not heavy, then they have no idea how hard it is...Remember.. little losses add up in the end..unfortunately we all get older and it dont come off that easy anymore!!!! Chin up we can do this!!!!

thanks samika. I understand how your feeling about seeing these relatives at Christmas. I have a few pics taken of me during my success phase-when I was around 175..I have a hard time beliving it was me and for the first time I was in all the pics, was always the one that vol. to take the pic or find a reason not to be in it. I had more pic taken with me in them after I lost the weight than I had taken in a total of 18 years. I edited mysef out of everything.
