Well this is probably going to get me several answers as ppl differ a lot in opinion on wether or not to eat lc whilst pregnant. Personally i would probably shift to maintenance but thats not my question. The thing is.. i threw out my birthcontroll pills some while ago and my periods are very irregular. For that reason i never really know if im late due to happy news or due to just being me. I am testing for pregnancy about 4 weeks after a missed period (not 3 days, a week or anything like that as i will get very obsessive about it then) Then if im not pregnant and my period still doesnt show up in 4 weeks i test again. I have been told it will be hard for me to get preganant because im overweight hence i try to loose but we might as well try while i loose. But my question is: Will it hurt a fetus to be on induction style diet for up to 8 weeks? Would it be safer to go back on the pill, drop the weight and THEN try?

Don't believe the old saw about it being hard to get pregnant if you are overweight. If you have PCOS or are very insulin resistant, you might, but usually it's not a problem. I got pregnant five times at your current weight. You could try tracking your fertility more - try to figure out when you are ovulating. Good luck!

I forgot to respond to your question about induction level carbs in early pregnancy. There are people who don't eat their entire first trimester due to nausea and their babies are fine. There is evidence that babies thrive on less food during this time anyway. Your baby needs good nutritious food, but won't be harmd by you eating very few carbs. If you have high blood sugar, low carb will benefit the baby. Nutrition becomes much more important in the second two trimesters, however, and I would not worry about the first 8 weeks. It is even OK to lose some weight in that time if that happens.

Well it was my gyno who told me i had too small a level of hormone to ovulate. This is due to the fact that fatcells "eat" the hormones before it gets to where its supposed to go. I grow eggs and ovulate fine if i get supplemental hormones.
I hadne thought about the poor girls that get nausated all throught the first couple of months and that is a good point :)

I followed a moderately low carb while pregnant with my daughter. Mostly, I had eggs for breakfast, fish or chicken with many green veggies to snack on during the day (broccoli, cucumbers mostly), almonds and walnuts for snacks too. My absolute favorite was frozen blueberries with heavy cream and almonds. The cream would turn into ice creamy consistency on the frozen berries and the almonds gave the crunchy texture. I was addicted my entire pregnancy :lol:
I drank tons of water (to keep the amni fluid up and my body fluids). Lots of stress free walking.
I gained 23lbs with my pregnancy and lost it right after the birth. I gained nothing in the first 6 months.
Gained all my weight that you see in my profile AFTER she was born. Darn maternity leave :D

OK, so you are having that problem. I hope you can work it out. I have heard of women losing even just a little bit of weight and correcting the issue, so, hopefully, you will fall into that category. Can you get the supplemental hormones to help you ovulate, or are you hoping to do it naturally? It's so hard to be waiting and wondering.

Sounds pretty much like i had imagined to eat during a pregnancy. Thanks for the input.
In Denmark you get help for free but they will tell me to loose weight first so im just doing that in advance. I weighed 104 kilos when i was told i couldnt ovulate naturally due to obesity so i have a long way to go before im there. But i will probably be able to get help before that if i loose some of the weight. Im not sure if i wanna get help ovulating right now. I did it 10 years ago twice with good eggs coming out of the ordeal but no baby and i was a hormonal wreck not to mention the sadness when it didnt work. I dont really need that right now. If it comes on its own im very happy but if not im not gonna stress (yet *lol*) In 6 months ill probably see my doc about it. No more than mention it next time i see her and ask how much she thinks would be appropriate to loose and leave it at that.
My period got regular at 124 kilos which it hasnt been for several years (Not even at 104 kilos) so im hoping it will again when i get under that.

Aw, man, I'm so sorry. I don't think there is anything tougher than trying to conceive and having a tough time. In the states they recommend weight loss first but they would not deny you the hormones even if you were a lot bigger than you are. Just try to remember, thin women can have the same problem. It's a condition you have (which probably is also causing weight gain) and not anything you are responsible for. The last thing you need when trying to conceive is to feel guilty and like it's all up to you.

Take vitamin D. Vitamin D regulates sex and other hormones...woemn who had PCOS were ables to conceive and carry to term after prolonged vitamin D supplementation.
