Hi all,
I am just starting back on Atkins induction and want to make sure I do it absolutely to the letter this time round (second attempt!) as I made a few mistakes that stopped me in my tracks last time  . I have a couple of questions about whether I can eat the following at this time:
1. Soft blue cheese - the one I have bought is St Auger.
2. Coconut milk
Please could somebody advise? :help:
Thanks,
Weightl3ss

As coconut milk is made from coconut flesh I would wait till the nuts/seeds rung of OWL to use it.
I don't know if the St Auger is an aged cheese therefore induction-legal or a fresh cheese which would be a dairy-rung one but it does sound tasty!!

Hi Elizellen/Big_Loser,
Thanks for your helpful replies :o)
Elizellen - If you like really strong blue cheese then you definately must try the St Auger, you can buy it in all of the big supermarkets - I buy it in either Sainsbury's or Morrisons. I am think I will go with the theory that it's so fatty that it must be good for me but if it slows me down during induction I'll hold off eating any more for a few weeks.
Big_Loser - Yum! is blacksticks blue the same sort of cheese? I will pop to M&S to buy some of this later on today I think.
Thanks again both :o)

All bleu's are aged. Aging is what makes the veins in it. Aren't all aged cheeses legal on induction?

I would hold off on coconut milk in induction. You'll probably be able to add it back in fairly soon.

Thanks for your replies guys.
I will happily continue to use the blue cheese then - it's my favourity food, delicious and really strong. Yum!!
Can I ask a silly question? Which cheeses would be considered fresh cheese and therefore a no-no during induction?
Thanks again,
Jenny

Cottage cheese is a fresh cheese.
Here is an explanation of fresh cheese

mozzarella, farmers, queso fresco, feta, ricota, cottage, these are all fresh cheeses. they are made by coagulating the milk and draining off the whey. In these cheeses there has been no bacterial action on the lactose to eat it up..When you drain off the whey, a great deal of the lactose is in the whey and I think that atkins lets you have the fresh cheeses in limited amounts after induction. If you smell a cheese and it has a lactic aroma then it is probably a fresh cheese.....if you get a funky tangy aroma it is probably aged cheese.
