Good morning, afternoon, or evening, as the case may be.
I began Atkins Induction three weeks ago. I have a trip to Hawaii in a week, and wanted my bikini body back from when I was 30 (I'm now 39). well, i shape up quickly, and have a high meta once it's revved, so just 5 lbs, and i'm there. (i've also been doing circuit training, the Jackie Warner series -- though not every day).
i'm not drinking enough water, though i'm getting there. however, i feel i've done everything else correctly (although i did go off the wagon at the end of my first week -- i typically crave starches, but not sweets, however, sat on my kitchen floor and ate 1/4 of a sheet b'day cake, heh. i got right back on the next day, and have been uber-strict since).
well, i've lost 15 lbs, and i'm losing more each day (i do weigh myself every day; i cheat in that regard). problem: i'm not hungry. that's great, cuz i've always had a HUGE appetite, and loved food. but sometimes, i forget to eat. and when i do, i can't eat much. my friends can't believe this change. nice change, but i'm lucky if i get 800 calories a day. so, induction's working *too* well no me.
the awesome thing is my life-long hypoglycemia is practically gone! it's great. but what shall i do about it? neurotically, part of me doesn't care, cuz it means i'll lose even more body fat. but i know that's quite an unhealthy attitude, and indicative of a tendency towards eating disorder city.
shall i go off induction now? i want to wait one more week and go to phase 2 on my trip, so i can enjoy it a bit more with richer foods. (not that i care anymore. jeez.)
now, here's the really, really bad part. i've always had low-normal bp, even when severely stressed. it's now too high, along with my heart rate. i thought that Atkins was supposed to help, but maybe it's too high cuz i'm stressing my body by not eating enough -- but i'm just.not.hungry.
obviously, i have an appt w/ my doctor *next week*. i do not wish to harm my body. i understand this is not a forum for *medical advice*, nor do i *seek* medical advice. i simply would like to hear experiences or tips regarding others who've experienced these things before on induction.
ideas? stories? tips? experiences?
kindest regards!
melissa
