I've seen the Dreamfields pasta in the store, and it claims to have only 5 digestible carbs. Yet the nutrition label says it has 190 calories per serving.

A carbohydrate has about 4 calories/gram, so if it has only 5 digestible carbs per serving, does this mean the digestive tract only derives 20 of those calories per serving?

I have some oceanfront property in Kansas that I'm looking to sell. Interested?

Actually, many people eat Dreamfield's without any problem, but in others, it does cause a rise in blood sugar. My personal opinion is that you do, in fact, get all the true calories and carbs from the stuff, just over a long period of time, i.e. 4 or more hours. However, that is only my person opinion. I have absolutely nothing to back it up. :)

I remember when someone in here did a blood sugar test with Dreamfields. When eaten fresh...there was no spike in blood sugar. When eaten as a leftover...30 minutes or longer after cooking...his blood sugar spiked. Apparently there is something that binds the carbs that breaks down over time. Not sure if that helps but I kinda take the "I need to eat it right away" route...and I dont eat it more than once a week just to be safe. My family will eat leftovers so it works out.
