I know that caffeine is supposed to be limited, but I was at my wits end with my headache and tiredness today so I bought a low carb Monster energy drink at Walmart..
REALLY hoping I did not mess the last two days up.. but I was absolutely miserable.
I bought some instant coffee (never been a huge coffee drinker, but need the caffeine right now) so hopefully having a cup in the morning will help. I have been drinking soda still, some with caffeine some without but it does not seem to be enough. I felt SO much better about 20 minutes after drinking it.
I also battle with tension headaches/migraines and both are helped my caffeine (another reason I really needed one today)
Here are the stats off the back of the can..
2 servings per can (drank the whole can)
10 cal./serving
Total Carb 3g/serving
Sugars 3g/serving
Please please.. I did not mess up the last 2 days did I??
On a good note, I am not having any carb cravings, and after the drink I felt SO much better. Still a little dizzy if I stand up too fast, but I think even that is getting better.

You didn't mess up...just made a little mistake....no sugar means no sugar during phase I....you'd have been better off having a cup of coffee and using splenda.

10 cal./serving
Total Carb 3g/serving
Sugars 3g/serving
Next time, you will need to read the ingredients and if you see any of the names for sugar, take a pass. While 6 grams is not a lot, its way more than we are allowed during phase I, which is none.....so keep going and I'm glad that you feel better now.
Your were feeling poorly due to your sugar withdrawal......please don't drink that again, OK? :D

Awww, I feel REALLY terrible now. :( I thought I was doing good.
Start over tomorrow... I will go 2 weeks from tomorrow. Gonna have hubby grab me some DIET Red Bulls for my headache days... I know those have NO sugar in them. And I will be doing coffee every morning with Splenda =)

Please don't feel bad as you really did not know. :agree: You are doing great!!
I've had the sugar free Red Bulls and if you like the way it tastes, great!!
Besides, your withdrawal will be gone in another day or 2.

At least I am not the only one who loves her energy drinks ;)
Do you think even though I indulged today my withdrawl will still be done in a day or two? I have to babysit Thursday and Friday and I am SO worried its not gonna be a good day for me at all.. wish I could call in sick! Ugh.

You'll feel much better by Thursday...as long as you stay away from the sugar! ;)

If you're buying them from a store and not a vending machine, I'd recommend checking out some of the other brands. Both Jolt and 24:7 have low carb versions that use artificial sweeteners and have 0g carbs listed on the labels.

I have to have my one energy drink a day also...I drink sugar free rockstar and it shows zero carbs per serving and there are two servings in a can...I count it as two carbs, just in case.

I sometimes drink Full Throttle Unleaded 0 calories. But I'm a coffee girl; energy drinks taste strangely like Robitussin to me.
