hi!
Today is my first day back to south beach. I have done it before but i got thrown off when i was allowed to introduce carbs back into my diet. i don't know how to just have one carb...and then i always loose control. I have decided to just stick to phase one...only allowing myself wine on the weekends.
Here is my menu for the day, can you tell me what you think:
Breakfast: 1 whole egg+ 1 egg white omlette with tofu hot dog (yuck) and 2% american cheese.
Snack: SF Jello
Lunch: lental curry soup with chicken
Dinner: poached flounder with cucumber salad (made with FF sour cream) and steamed asparagus.
Snack: riccotta cream made with SF cool whip and a tsp of natrul pb.
I am going to change my breakfast to Flax seed pancakes tomorrow because i really dislike eggs. But this is the gist of what i plan on eating. how does it look?

It looks good to me....but I failed SB a few years back because I tried to stay on phase 1 tooooooo long.
(right now I am doing something inbetween Atkins and SB)
Imo most people have trigger carbs and can handle others. Maybe this time introduce the carbs very slowly (one at a time) to judge how your body reacts...
I can't imagine anyone staying on phase 1 their whole life.
Best of luck to you!

Does FF stand for Full Fat or Fat Free?
Did you feel satisfied all day with that menu?

hey. yeah after doing some research i think just re-introducing carbs back very slowly is a good idea. and still steering clear of breads and pastas (pasta is a HUGE weekness for me)
FF stands for fat free. i was fine yesterday. last night i did have the urge to hit the fridge but i just went to bed.

HI..sorry I didn't get to anwer you sooner!! :o
Your food looks OK to me....veggies with your breakfast or veggie juice, is on the meal plan chart so try to include it.
Sf jello is not a good choice for a snack....a protein and veggie is good. Natural peanut butter on celery is a favorite of mine. :yum:
Lentil curry chicen soup....that sounds fabulous!!
dinner and snack after look fine to me!!
Post to us in the weekly check in thread!!
ps- just want to add that I too, have bread and pasta as my weaknesses....I have pasta once in a while now. and I can control it!! It gets better!!

welcome ....not a terrible idea ...just maybe a misguided one.
Do your 2 weeks phase I and I'll show you how to do phase II when you are ready. At your weight, it is best for long term maintenance to not stay in phase I after 2 weeks.
If you could help me when it comes time to phase 2 that would be so great. i just think i dont know how to do it properly.
see? we did chat about this!! :D
