Hi, gang, I've been shopping today and thought I'd poke my head into the local (Robson Street, Vancouver) Korean grocery store. I like pickle-y, relish-y things (the sugarless variety of which can be hard to find!) and so I thought I'd try a new treat - Kimchi. Its main ingredient is sui choi, or Chinese cabbage, which has basically NO carbs. The label lists sugar, but it's the last ingredient, after salt, and it doesn't have a sweet taste.

There's no carb count on the label, but I'm assuming the stuff is OK, and it tastes good - not as hot as I'd thought (though I don't mind heat), and nice and spicy. It's got sui choi, water, garlic, green onion, ginger, red pepper, radish, salt, and sugar, in that order. It should make a nice little side dish!
