I just found several articles on the internet about combining grape juice and certo for athritis pain. Well the carb count for grape juice is off the charts. Any ideas? :help:

I'm sure you could find articles on the internet of combining almost anything together as a cure for arthritis. Sometimes people end up thinking things work because their arthritis gets better. But really, arthritis isn't the same all the time. It seems to come and go.

I think the best thing that worked for me was eliminating grains and dairy and eating low carb, similar to the Paleo diet. I still get flares but they're not as bad. I even went about a year without any flares. Nothing else has done that well for me.

Ditto Nancy LC. Except I can eat a limited amount of dairy. Grains however will have me limping by the next morning and if I eat them again, waking up crying in the middle of the night the next night.

Grape+certo is one solution. Gin & raisens is another. So is general dietary changes in favor of less inflammation.

I think you can buy reservatrol in a pill, and I think that's the "magic" ingredient in red wine / grape juice, but you're out in DIY territory there. Might work. And if it does, you can bottle the stuff as a LC athritis cure and make a million...

thanks for the input. I do know that the "night shade vegetables" really do bother me. I feel terrible knee pains for hours after eating potaotes. I bought the certo and mixed it with lemon juice and water. I do have the reservatrol in pill so I will take it at the same time and see what happens.

My Dad swears by flax oil. He said it completely cleared up arthritic pain he had in his knee (he's a very active and fit 72 year old). It might be the omega 3s in it. Omega 3s are known to be anti-inflammatory and I think I've seen reference to research on this. Cod liver oil might be another one. See if you can find some research on these possibilities, or testimonials that seem halfway believable.

you know what the best and the cheapest is turmeric . You can get it in any indian grocery store for $2 and have one spoon of it in hot water and any fat along with it because it helps its absorption.

Chand, does turmeric upset some people's stomach? I've been trying to take turmeric for a long time but I think it upsets my tummy. I have used it as a cooking ingredient with no problems, maybe just the dose size is the issue for me.

Going gluten free helped mine the most of everything... :)
