I started a thread a couple of months ago regarding the Lap Band and problems I was having with it.
I just wanted to offer an update. I had my band removed three weeks ago today and got a Sleeve Gastrectomy and I LOVE it! OMG, why didn't I choose this procedure to begin with?? ;o) I absolutely adore this surgery. It is 10x easier than banding.
I don't have more weight to lose (got it for maintenance) so the post op diet is hard (liquids) but so far it is great!
I am thrilled with this procedure. If you are considering WLS please don't get a band, it's a hard journey. A sleeve, THAT's the way to go!

Why is the sleeve better and how can you tell if you are only 3 weeks post op and still on liquids only?
I'm just curious as to why you had the band removed and the sleeve put in?

I just did a search on your past posts and found you talking about the problems you were having with your banding and explained how the sleeve is different and why you wanted to get it, so I think I've answered my own question!
Good luck! I hope the sleeve works out well for you!

I do believe that in my case if I did not replace the band with a different procedure I would have regained. I am one of those people that if I can eat, I do eat. I can't eat more than a few ounces at a time and that is what *I* need. I don't claim others can't do it, I'm referring to me only.
I haven't barfed, slimed, PB'ed, or other assorted methods of puking since I got a sleeve. I'm thrilled.
Thanks for the luck, I actually see a light at the end of the tunnel today.
