Hello everyone! I have a few questions for anyone who has done the Fat Fast. I was wondering how long it was safe to stay on it. DANDR 2002 says 3-5 days at 1000 calories, then you can move to the modified 1200 fast. I just finished day 5 with a loss of 9 pounds and I would really like to see how far I can go at 1000 calories. Also, I am looking for some suggestions for 200 calorie "meals" with 75%-90% fat. I seriously don't think I can stomach any more cream cheese at this time. Thanks in advance!

One reason for limiting the fat fast is that you do not eat enough protein to prevent muscle wasting. That's a big reason because your body is quite willing to burn heart, liver, kidney, spleen and lung cells to get its protein requirement.

calculate your minimum protein requirements (0.6 g /pound bodyweight) and your minimum caloric intake to prevent muscle wasting. problem is 1200cal is usually below that.
