I figured it would be good to stop lurking and join in. Most of my introduction can be found in my journal. I have at least 100 pounds to lose. I left my goal at 200 as that's the lowest I can remember weighing. This was probably in 9th or 10th grade.
I love reading posts here at the TDC as I feel people have had a lot of the same experiences. Also, there are a lot of people here that are truly inspiring. I have been peaking into journals, and I promise I will start posting as well. It is inspiring to see people who have lost a lot of weight, but it is also inspiring to see people who keep on trying and coming back no matter what.

Welcome and it's nice to meet you!!!
I am in the induction stage right now as well....I have found a source of really great recipes and that is what I needed to keep going and not get bored.
I found that research is key!! Look for those LC recipes that give you a good variety of food choices...

Hey Jess! Welcome Aboard. I am just starting out too. Day #7 of Atkins Induction. I agree with the above posters about finding recipes so things don't get boring. And I've found my blog is helping me too. Just to get things out.
See you around the discussion board!

Thank you for the welcome messages.
Right now- I have already been reading your journal, blog, and recipes. I was feeling in tune with your reorganizing blog post. Last weekend I was thinking of ways to reorganize my kitchen. We just moved in, and I am sure it could be set up for better usability.
I am going to do more research and try to cook more. The people I see succeeding are the ones who are experimenting in the kitchen. I will have to jump on board that train.
Also, I agree about sharing being a help. I am going to keep trying to post and contribute.
Nice meeting you all and thanks again!

Yes that is key! Organization, experimentation, and research..
When I first tried Atkins, I failed because I thought it was all about eggs, cheese and deli meat rolled up on lettuce. LOL!
When I found Linda's place and all her posted recipes, I was in heaven and found them very easy to do without having to purchase a whole of items online...

I definitely want to avoid needing to order too much online. I think the point of this is to learn to eat whole foods which I why I gained so much weight in the first place. Portion control goes right out the window when you are eating chips and soda.

Thanks Stephanie.
It looks like you have lost quite a bit. Have you gone the entire time without counting carbs?

Yeah, portion control has to stay in the car! No tossing it out the window...
Yeah, I have 4 more days before I weigh myself for the first time..I am kinda nervous...One thing I have to get a handle on is, "Just because I didn't see the progress "I" expected, it's no excuse to stop."!
I may stay on this induction stage for longer than 2 weeks..May do it an additional 2 weeks...

This is something I truly have to remember. I am teaching myself to eat better. The weight will come off. The last time I strictly focused on losing weight, I decided I could eat what I wanted after I lost 40 pounds, and then I would be able to get back to Lc'ing. I guess we have all been there, and it is really hard to make a full lifestyle change.

Hi, just wanted to say welcome, though I'm still in the process of introducing myself here.
I think I may be the only CALP/Stella Style person here  but I know I'll have appropriate recipes to share.
