Hi All,

I was just reading over some of these threads and I have a few questions. I think the book I borrowed from my friend may be a little older. It looks like in Phase 1 you can now have 2 cups of non-fat or low-fat dairy. I think I am getting this in my cheese intake (love those cheese sticks, eat 2 a day). Can I really have yogurt (low-fat)?

Also I saw some mention of people not being able to eat all their veggie's the approach I have have taken is the following:

1 whole egg + 1 egg white omelette with either just sauted veggies or veggies, low-fat cheese (2 slices american) and 1 slice canadian bacon.

skim milk (2 tbsp) in my coffee

low fat string cheese as a snack

salad with lettuce, toms, cukes, italian bean salad, 2 oz of marinated chicken or steak for lunch. with 1-2 tbsp of the balsamic dressing from the book.

for my next snack i have my cashews (love those), maybe another string cheese or 2 slices of low-fat american. red pepper & celery sticks in hummus or more bean salad. Any combo of those really.

Dinner is protein, chicken, fish or lean steak and bean salad and a small salad.

dessert is jello.

Am I getting enough veggies? sometimes i am still hungry and then i crave the cheese more than veggies. It seemed like people were saying it was required to eat a certain amount of veggies. I have been just eating a normal sized meal so i feel satisfied, not stuffing in the veggies just to stuff them in.

I only need to loose about 12-15 lbs, so i am wondering if people have found at that point in their dieting that a different approach helps!

Thanks!

Your menu looks fine and it definitely looks like you're getting enough veggies in. I wouldn't eat more just to stuff them in if you're satisfied with the amount you're getting. If you do still feel hungry, maybe add abit more protein in. I see like at lunch you're only getting 2 oz and that may not be enough for you. Try increasing to 3 and see what happens. You don't have much to lose, so you'll have to watch carefully to see how you're doing weight wise and then make adjustments from there. Yes, you are allowed to have yogurt! Make sure it doesn't contain sugar in it. There are carb control yogurts available. Of course you can always have plain yogurt, add in a few berries and perhaps some sweetner if you like. It makes a really nice dessert! Make sure to take it easy on the nuts! They can add alot of unwanted calories really, really fast! :)

Thanks! that is helpful. I can see what you mean about keeping an eye on it. Yesterday I had more cheese and a few too many nuts, gained a lb back. SO i will be adding more protein. I think if i mix it up with more interesting stuff this coming week I will be good!

Hi magpieoz.
Keep in mind the added salt in nuts and cheese, and these are also high fat foods. You'll have to find the balance that works for your body.
If you keep loosing thats great. But if you get a little stuck just cut back on the portion size, and the snacks.

Good Luck.
