I restarted Phase 1 last week as I hit a plataeu. I was wondering, do you all feel that you are eating so much food sometimes?

I could barely get though my 1 1/2 cups of cabbage at lunch today. I know this WOE works because I've lost 30 lbs so far, but somedays, it is such a struggle and I fail to eat all I am supposed to.

Any suggestions?

We felt this way as well. We couldn't understand how we were supposed to lose weight when we were eating WAY more food than we had previously - but, of course, we did. My poor husband would be just finishing breakfast and having to pack morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack to take to work! Some days I couldn't even think about afternoon snack, but I stuffed it in anyway.

I kind of like being able to eat more and weigh less!

On another note, someone Finally said something to me yesterday about my weight loss. It only took 18.5 pounds for them to say something. But it made me happy that someone noticed!

I'm so glad I'm not alone.
Veggies can be a struggle sometimes. I mean really... TWO whopping cups of cabbabe! LOL!!!!
I get my 1/2 in the morning with my low sodium veggie juice. But it is more like 1.5 to 1.75 cups at lunch and dinner. I'm working at it though.

As for snacks, I tend to split my 15 almonds and have 7 in the morning and the rest in the afternoon IF I have any at all. It allows me to skip the cheese and use it when I have salads or toping for my refriend beans.

Hugs,

I have just realized that I don't have to have all 15 almonds at one time. Don't ask - sometimes my brain just ignores the obvious! I am much happier now, since they seem to be my current snack of choice. And, sometimes my mouth just wants a little crunch, so I have one or two and move on.

I don't know if I could eat two cups of cabbage, either! That's a whole lot! My neighbor just told me of a recipe she made with cabbage (they have a lot in their garden). She mixed ground lamb, fried leeks, canned tomatoes and various spices and layered it with cabbage. She then topped it with cheese and baked in the oven. Sounds okay to me and might be an easier way to eat your cabbage!

I actually don't measure my veg. Bad, bad me. I do, however, usually have what I call a small salad (which everyone else insists is not small!) consisting of two handfuls of chopped romaine or bagged salad, onion, red pepper chopped, cucumber, tomato, avocado and some seeds and whatever else is lurking around that looks good. I've been known to toss leftover veggies from dinner in there - roasted peppers are especially good! So my extra large Pfaltzgraff plate is usually heaped about three inches high. I don't know how many cups that is! If I don't have any protein to put on it (usually tuna, although it's not as good with roasted veg!), I add feta cheese to it instead. I probably get most of my veggies with lunch this way.

At dinner, we experiment with all kinds of recipes to make veggies more interesting. Most recent one - pan fry some trimmed fresh asparagus is olive oil til just crisp-tender. Place on serving platter and drizzle with a bit of lemon juice and top with parmesan cheese shavings (fresh stuff, not stuff in a plastic bottle!).

All that aside, sometimes I still struggle. Sometimes I'm just not hungry enough to eat that much and I cheat by having only a bowl of cottage cheese and some pineapple pieces for lunch.
