This is a thread about bariatric surgery and why we should all run down to our Dr. and get it. If we happen to have 50 grand or so in our pockets and live past the first 30 days afte surgery, we won't have to visit this silly forum anymore. Hmmm, if we don't live past 30 days we still won't have to visit the forum, I guess.
Okay, so who wants to go first? I am very busy right now.

Sounds like forum surgery to me! "Dear Doctor, I'd like to have my forum removed."

"Opinions only-facts not accepted"
What if the opinion turns out to be a fact?
Is that a violation?
When someone starts a thread, they don't own the thread.
The thread direction is pretty much guided by the people who reply.
No disrespect to you is intended or implied,Awriter.
Be happy and healthy

Korban kindly provided us rules for posting! Then we know right from the outset what is expected of us. No unnecessary providing of discussion or things we find interesting, just stick to the rules. *yawn* (Even presidential debates are more interesting than that, though not by much)

Eddie,
That is a question, not an opinion, not a fact, nor an opinion that happens to be a fact.
Matter of fact, that is my opinion.

Sorry-got my threads mixed up.
I meant to be addressing you rather than awriter.
Still stand by what I said.
You don't own or control a thread just because you started it.
I have started a few threads that wandered to other subjects entirely.
That's okay. That's where the people who replied to the thread wanted to go.
No questions or opinions.Only facts.
And so it goes...

This thread is about the question: who wants to go first? that was answered/determined by NancyLC when she was the first poster... :)
My opinion is this: If you die from this surgery, you received a "death sentence"... If you live from this surgery, you received a "life sentence", either way, you're convicting yourself.......... Either the lap-band surgery or the gastric bypass surgery is condemning people to a lifestyle I would never wish upon myself. In the end, if a person doesn't change their eating habits, neither surgery will have made any improvements in one's life and both surgeries will have taken its toll on one's life. The bad far outways any potential good. To attain the good is to live a life that is miserable. I've personally witnessed two people go through these different surgeries (my daughter and ex-wife) and I have known others who have had it done.
This is a fact (sorry): In 1986, gastric by-pass surgery costs were $8,000, so it has about quadruppled in the last 22 years.. I don't know anyone who would do it again if they had a choice.....
