I have never been much of a water drinker, but following Atkins I have learned to drink it. In fact, I have come to really enjoy it. I drink 60 to 80 oz a day. However, about half the time I drink a flavored water or put one of those little packets in it. It tastes better. Today I was reading the ingredients and I am wondering if this is as good for you? Am I getting the benefit of drinking my 64 oz a day with this extra stuff in it?
Contains: Filtered Water, Natural Flavor, Phosphoric Acid, Sodium Hexametaphospate (to protect flavor), Potassium Citrate, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate (Preserves Freshness) Sucralose (Splenda Brand), Ascorbid Acid (Vitamin C), Acesulfame Potassium, Vitamin E Acetate, Calcium Disodium EDTA (To Protect Flavor).

I drink the flavored zero cal water as well... not sure if it is okay but Richard Bernstein in one section of his book implied so. The link below from Dr. Mercola suggests that you don't really need 8 glasses a day unless you are working out, it is hot, etc...

Is it correct... who knows? Eight sounds like a good number but whether it is a realistic number of not, I have no clue. By the way, I try to drink eight glasses a day :) but often half of it is in flavored water...

If that's the only source of non-"natural" chemicals in your diet and you're not trying to be 100% organic, it probably won't be the one thing that tips the scale. What else are you eating? What do you breathe? Do you always use sunscreen? Do you hang out near power lines? Use a cell phone without a headset? Have mold or radon in your basement?
OTOH, most water's free. I would rather have that money in my retirement account.
There are a million ways to be "good," or "bad," for our bodies, and we live in the culture we live in and we're going to die as a result of some of the things in that culture.
I just kinda hafta rank the risks and decide which ones I'm going to let myself worry about.
