And if you have, did it work and how did it affect you?

Honestly, it sounds a bit like snake oil. It's fiber (konjac & guar) in oil (coconut oil). Both fiber & fat have been shown to cut glycemic indexes on meals, hence their claim.

First, if you are eating low glycemic or low-carb already, it's not going to do much more for you. Second, if you are using it so that you can eat higher carb, you can probably get the same effect by making sure your higher carb meals are high fat and high fiber as well.

I just bought this last week. :)

Mainly I bought it because I read that it helps with insulin resistance... and I have to say that I'm having some surprisingly positive results so far!

After a few months stall (while strictly eating LC), I lost 5 lbs. in 3 days! Also, my appetite has significantly reduced. Is this because of the fibre in this product? The coconut oil? The combination of the two? I don't know. (But I've always included plenty of fibre and coconut oil in my regular LC diet).

Clearly, I don't know for sure that 'PGX Daily' is directly responsible for this sudden whoosh in weight or if, ultimately, it will help with my insulin resistance - but, thus far, I'm very pleased!

:D :D :D

PGX WEBSITE (http://www.pgx.com/us/en/about/)
I think you need to read this before starting the program.
Bear in mind the oil is NOT plain coconut oil. It's a refined MCT oil.
That is much more expensive than plain coconut oil it's the MCT that is reducing appetite and upregulating your metabolism so you have more energy and burn more energy (run at a slightly higher temperature)

Reduction of Postprandial Glycemia by the Novel Viscous Polysaccharide PGX, in a Dose-Dependent Manner, Independent of Food Form (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20679143)

PGX is a highly viscous, functional fiber that modifies satiety hormone secretion in healthy adults. Its' potential to act similarly in overweight adults warrants investigation. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20664618)

There is a free full text paper here that explains how it works in greater detail (http://www.thorne.com/altmedrev/.fulltext/15/1/68.pdf)

It's available in various guises from IHERB (http://www.iherb.com/search?kw=pgx) Code WAB666 saves $5 for new IHERB users. If you are in the UK and your order is going to be £18 or more it's worth using DHL as their handling fee for collecting the tax is just 2% of vat so it may be worth trying to maximise the bulk discounts to offset the extra tax you will pay.
