I'm a little lost on where to post what but I quit smoking almost 3 weeks ago
in 38 years I never even tried to quit cuz thought it would be too hard & I would be evil to live with.
I read Allen Carr's book
I am blown away by how easy it is compared to what I expected it to be. Someone mentioned how it is never easy. I have to disagree - again comparitively speaking - true it's not as easy as blinking your eyes - but it is not a horrible thing
If folks are quitting other ways & staying off smokes
cool

personally the book taught mne more than just the non-smoke attitude....
Look at what you are gaining but stopping not what you are giving up...
apply this to the low carb plan
makes your life less of a fight

{a little lost on where to post ...} If it doesn't fit any of the existing threads start a new one, which is exactly what you did.

I haven't read Allen Carr's book but I'd agree that what you focus on grows. So thinking it is easy (and why) will often make it a lot easier to give up anything.

Something I heard today which I'd like to share.

“Smoking is not a health issue – it is an economic issue” was a quote I heard today. It caught my attention. People on this talk show were all saying how much they had saved and what they had been able to do with the money they saved. It truly enhanced the quality of their life.

”If it is on your ass it is not an ass-et” To make a long story short self-esteem, or affordability, or health is all about adjusting my attitude.

Take care. Keep us posted on how you continue.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting about this. I've almost finished the book, and I'm quitting tomorrow - and I'm looking forward to it! This after 27 years of smoking - can't wait to be a non-smoker!

Hi Guy's!
I haven't read the book, but I did quit smoking cold turkey, 2 months ago today, and I was also suprised at how easy it has been, I heard so many people talk about the bad moods and the cravings and how hard it was... I think it depends on the frame of mind we put ourselves in and how ready we are to quit....
Keep up the great work, it's so nice not to be a slave to nicotine..
Good Luck to you all
Louise
