Hi All,

I've been shopping for Vit D3, and the only kind I can find are
little hard pills. However, from reading this forum, my understanding
is that Vit D is best absorbed when in combination with fat.... i.e.
in a gel capsule form that contains oil? Is this correct?

If anybody knows a brand name of D3 w/ oil, could you
please post? Also, where you buy them, please?

Or, another thought........if I would take the D in hard pill form along with
a source of fat, would that be just as good? i.e. taking it during
a meal?

Thanks!

I have used TwinLab Allergy D caps and they have worked great for me. They are in solid powder inside capsules. I recommend TwinLab because they are made in the US under strict quality control and as far as the D3 is concerned, I measured my blood levels of 25-0HD and they definately shot up so I can verify it works. And I did not need to take any extra fat, there is probably more than enough fat in any lowcarber's diet to take care of absorbing D.

I've been using the Bio-Tech capsules -- powder in a gelatin cap -- for a while now. I like them, they're tiny and don't have much filler. I take them with my krill oil supplements about an hour before I eat and haven't had any problem with absorption. Plus they come in 1K & 5K IU formulations.
