Hi, everyone.
I'm interested in using lemon/lime juice to help aid my digestion. I believe I suffer with candida overgrowth, and am cautious about using any type of sugar or fruit. Often lemon is cited as being an acceptable fruit/juice for an anti-candida program, although I do know that about a tablespoon worth of juice contains about 1 gram of carbs/sugar.
I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts/facts/opinions about using lemon juice for a candida program.
The reason I ask is because I've read that the acidic nature is anti-fungal and antimicrobial, but am concerned about the inherent sugar it contains.
Does lemon juice feed or fight candida?
I'm taking two tablespoons in water with meals to aid digestion, and so far it seems to be helping, but I think I'm noticing a bit of increased bloating. I'm not sure if I should align this with die-off or feeding the yeast.
Thanks everyone!
