So, we eat protein. It contains the essential amino acids. The our bodies and break down the 'essential' aminos and make 'non-essential' and 'conditional' amino acids out of some of them.

Does anyone know *where* in the body this takes place? Intestines? Liver?

I did a quick google and found more than I could ever want to know about the chemistry of it, but I couldn't find out the where.
