I love this book and have it checked out from the library right now.

The amount of packaged, processed food in the American and European pictures is truly shocking.

There seems to be a correlation between wealth and degree of food processing. The more wealth, the more processing.

Very interesting! Thanks, Regina (on your blog). There was one family with so much cola!! Some families had pretty healthy looking diets, but not so much the Americans, lol.

Er Oh well, that's the point of these things sometimes.

I don't think I'll be visiting the Tingo's in Ecuador very soon. Oh, they look like a fun bunch, but after poking around their kitchen I think cabbage is the only thing I can eat. Darn. It would be fun to cook with them though.

If groceries get any more expensive, I may have to move to Shingkhey Village!

According to Anthony Bourdain the rest of the world eats the whole damn animal whatever it is and gnaws on the bones and fat. The best way to save money is by wasting nothing...although I still can't get myself to eat chicken feet.

mmmmmm...rubbery.
