Hi everyone,

I'm Northwestern Wisconsin - Eau Claire area. Lowjax, I feel for you - Milwaukee & Madison have been hammered this year. You guys have a lot more snow than we have. Groovejock - Atlanta to Green Bay is a huge change! Hope you're a Packer fan so at least you have some consolation.

Is Mother Nature getting senile? It's going to be 10 below here! This is March, right? Where's the global warming everyone keeps talking about?

I'm only about 30 min from you! :D Yes where is the warm up? It warmed up enough and now everything is ice.

Hey everyone. It's good to see more Wisconsinites here.

GrooveJock - the move from Atlanta must be a little shocking for your body. Lots of nice cold weather now.

Carmen51 - I grew up near the Eau Claire Area. My dad has a farm out in the Menomonie/Knapp area. Spent the first 18 years of my life there. I'm going back up to visit from the 13th to the 16th of March to see them.

Rodmick - Glad to see you in the area as well. Don't you just love this global warming all these smart people are telling us we are having?

I used to live in Wausau but moved because I was tired of freezing to death. Now I am in Colorado and the darn snow found me again. Must be time to move to Texas.

I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There you weren'[t nursed with milk. Real Wisconsin mothers nursed us on cheese curds. That had to hurt.

I currently reside in the cheeseless state of Colorado, where I look for Johnsonville brats, and dream of 1982, when the Milwaukee Brewers took the pennant. Raleigh Fingers... Robin Yount...Laverne and Shirley...

I remember moving to Washington State at the tender age of 14. People made me talk for them (I had to say Schlameel Schlamozzel a lot). I could never find the "bubbler".

When people asked me if I wanted a 'pop', I said, "Are you kidding? Mine's at home, and one's enough for me, thanks."

Sounds like Milwaukee alright :D

I was born in Cudahy....where everyone's last name ends in "ski" and there is always a bar within stumbling distance. I learned to play pool as soon as I could hold the stick steady while standing on a chair. I can find the pissing frog on a can of Old Style in less than 1 second. I am also a 3rd generation league bowler...but I had to retire early due to carpal tunnel. Now I Wii bowl :D

Hey! I'm from WI, too! I'm sick to death of the cold and snow, and now the mud. If I remember right, it started snowing in November, and we had snow on Good Friday. That means we've had 5 months of winter here!!!!

I think I need to have a brat for dinner! :)

I was born and raised in Milwaukee too, oh and 1982 was even more perfect cause that's when The Who came to town and my friends and I all had tickets! Ya and the Brewers thing too.....

Now I live close enough to Wisconsin to Point and laugh.....I can be there inside of 2 minutes by car....

What chunk of Milwaukee ya from? I'm a Bay View-ite myself...though born on the East side....

Cudahy? Didja go to UCLA University of Cudahy by the Lake Almost? (Cudahy High..)

I spent a lot of time in Cudahy at my cousins house, or at friends or riding the bike paths in Sheridan Park, on my way from Southshore to Grant Park boat launches and back...

We moved to Wausau when I was 5, but we took several trips a year back to see grandma. When I turned 19 I moved to Colorado and mom moved back to Cudahy with sister and brother. Mom is a UCLA graduate, and so are my siblings.

Grandma used to live on E. Morris Ave. It was a short walk to Lake Michigan and the parks. We went to Grant Park all the time.

I lived in West Allis and in the Sussex area. West Allis was markedly different from Lannon/Sussex. I mean, we're talking the difference between buffalo chip flip and flipping people off.

I lived in Kenosha for a couple of years. I learned to ice skate on a flooded field with the little warming house on it. It was near an elementary school on Ohio street.

Hi Halfpass,

I'm in Northern Wisconsin, too - Chippewa Falls area - in the country. Where do you live?

We had snow last Monday - everything was white. I had to admit that it was very beautiful, even if it was almost May at the time. My 14-year-old woke up and I asked him if he'd looked outside. He asked, in a very dejected voice "Did it snow?" When I said yes, he grumbled "I'm so sick of this". I think we're done with the snow now but it's far from warm yet. I only have leaf buds on my lilacs - it will be a long time before they bloom.

I just found this thread. I was born in West Allis. Lived in Milwaukee until age 5 when my parents divorced. Moved to Peshtigo and graduated from Peshtigo High School. Now I live in Indiana. I too can never find the "bubbler" and I almost sent "pop" out of my nose when I read the line about nursing on cheese curds.

HalfPass - I was only in Rhinelander once as a child because my parent's friends had moved there and we visited them. I don't remember anything about it. What is Rhinelander like? I know I would love a hobby farm - must be great!

Rhinelander is like a mosquito farm, with cheap locally brewed beer :D

Sounds a lot like Chippewa Falls! Mosquitos, humidity, short summers, long winters, snow, cold, ice storms, days of clouds and no sun, constant road construction because of salt damage, high taxes, and low wages - so why do we live here?
