I want to thank Jenny and the others on this forum who suggested I try levemir. I had been on NPH for 6 months and not only was my BG not controlled, I was consantly hungry and packing on the pounds even on strict paleo low carb.

I began levemir three days ago, and immediately noticed a BIG drop in appetite. In fact, I have to force myself to eat and my portions are getting much smaller although still satisfying and nutritious. What a difference!

Also, my BG is more stable, less fluctuations.

My drug program does not cover it (for Ontarians - it is not covered under Trillium) - but we pay for it anyway out-of-pocket - it's worth it!

I now feel as I did in the pre prednisone and insulin days - with a normal healthy appetite, not a constant raging hunger.

It's quite remarkable. I am wondering if this (welcome) side effect will remain or will it pass with time. Has anyone else had any expreience with this?
