Hi all,

Something weird is happening to me today. I can not stand any food. I only had a little bit to eat today, like a few bites of pork and asparagus at dinner. Nothing else all day. I am not hungry, just grossed out by food. And no, I am not pregnant.

Anyone experienced this before?

Tech, it's called Ketosis. :) If you refer back to your copy of DANDR he talks about how entering ketosis will reduce your appetite - it is quite normal.

It's important that you keep eating though - under eating now will surely slow your fat loss down. Plan your meals and stick to them.

Hi Techgirl!!

Isn't it amazing??? The appetite goes right out the window!!

But, yes, you do have to eat the right amount of food anyway.
Try picking.... several small meals.

I've had several days of struggle to get in the right amount of food... and found that I lose steadier when I eat the right amount as opposed to the starving mode. :)

Hi there......

Nat already gave you the technical explanation and I'd simply like to assure you that it happens to pretty much all of us. I remember that on induction, I had several days where I was absolutely revolted by the thought of food. It was very difficult to get the protein I needed in, but I was very aware that I needed it so persevered.

Hang in there...the good news is that this too shall pass!

I'll just add in my confirmation of it. I had a number of days where I had to struggle to make 900 calories. I think I am now in the 1800 to 2000 range on most days and am trying to get it up a bit more and increase my fat percentage - but it's proving to be a bit difficult.

Very normal to lose the appetite - the picking is probably the best approach until you're through it.
