Cheese is very healthy, but you have to have a balanced diet and if you remember Dr A limits the amount of cheese we can eat during induction to 2-3 oz.
So, yes its health in moderation

Actually, the limit on Atkins is 4 oz/day. And cheese does contain some carbs. You can check the carb content of specific types of cheeses here:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
Obviously, the more cheese you eat, the more carbs you're getting, although if you stay within the 4 oz limit, it shouldn't be more than 4g. :)
ETA: Quite a few people have discovered that they have to be careful with cheese, or their weight loss stalls.

Cheese is also caloricly dense, so you want to stick to a reasonable amount per day.

Most cheese is high in sodium, Swiss is low so I used to eat it almost daily. Now I am cutting back on cheese and salted nuts for more calorie control.

According to my 2002 DANDR, farmer's cheese isn't allowed on Induction. Most other cheeses are okay in moderation, as others have mentioned.

I have to be really careful with cheese because of yeast overgrowth in my system. The mold spores or something seem to just send my gut into spins. Be careful of quantity if yeast has ever been a problem.

I love cheese, and I eat it a lot.
I am trying to very slowly cut it out-not completely, but definately not make it the focus of my day  I am not happy with my rate of loss, plus I have psoriasis, and the more I'm reading, the more I see people cutting out dairy when they have skin issues.
It's so hard though.

Acceptable cheese's on Induction are the following:
Cheddar
Cow, Sheep & Goat Cheese
Cream Cheese
Gouda
Mozzarella
Roquefort and other blue cheese's
Swiss
The limit is 3-4 oz per day.
Farmer's cheese is not permitted until OWL. Its the 2nd rung of the carb ladder and you are permitted 5 oz.
