hello all,
Been (back) on lowcarb for 1 week strict, another week "prep" (eliminated most everything carby but wasn't keeping track), and this morning my husband noticed a large "target" on my back - 3 concentric circles, look somewhat like a bruise or burn. I've got a 1:30 dr. appt. to investigate but I'm worried that it's ringworm - which from what I'm reading is a symptom of candida. I'm starting an already planned colon cleanse this weekend, but I'm rather freaked out. Aside from coconut oil (which I'm ordering today) what else can I do? I know my dr. will, if anything, prescribe a cream or antibiotics, nothing holisitic. I'm freaked, any words of wisdom or advice or even just support would be greatly appreciated!

Your doctor will likely prescribe topical antifungal medication, if it is indeed ringworm and if so its highly contagious. My best advice is to wash your hands and body often, launder the linens and clothes of an infected family members separately. Just follow your doctors orders implicitly. Good luck to you!

Probiotics, a clove or 2 of garlic a day, apple cider vinegar and low carb diet. There is other stuff, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Lyme disease? I thought that was what gives the bulls-eye like mark.
In about 50% of the cases a characteristic rash or lesion called erythema migrans is seen. It begins a few days to a few weeks after the bite of an infected tick. The rash generally looks like an expanding red ring. It is often described as looking like a bull's-eye with alternating light and dark rings. However, it can vary from a reddish blotchy appearance to red throughout. And can be confused with poison ivy, spider or insect bite, or ringworm. At about the same time that the rash develops, flu-like symptoms may appear with headache, sore throat, stiff neck, fever, muscle aches, fatigue and general malaise. Some people develop the flu-like illness without getting a rash.
If it is Lyme disease you need to be on antibiotics to get rid of it. It is quite nasty and debilitating if you let it go untreated.

Two doctors took a look and neither had any idea, but they ruled out both ringworm and lyme's. I'm going to see a dermatologist tomorrow morning. I think I'm also experiencing some candida die-off symptoms. I hate feeling yucky and not knowing why! Thank you to everyone for your help and suggestions - I'll post when I get back from the skin doctor tomorrow. May have my DH take a picture of it for posterity - the nurses at my primary care physician's all wanted a look...
