For those of you who take this, does it really help with cravings? I hate spending money on things that don't really work.

It works really well for me but i take it every day rather than when needed.. Its really helped me get over the PMS cravings and usually i take it with a tablespoon of cream.

I think it's good stuff. I take it when I'm craving. It could be psychosomatic, but then why not just bottle it and call it "Happiness"...

LOL

For some folks, happiness is a bottle of jelly beans.

I actually bought some of this today and was THRILLED to see it's MUCH less expensive than L-Carnitine. :D

Hope it helps with my nighttime cravings. I do great during the day but at night I just want to eat everything in sight.

That is exactly my problem. Sometimes I think if I could just go to bed at about 7:30pm I'd weigh 25lbs less than I do. ;)

the best way to take it is to open a cap and let it dissolve under the tongue

OKay so I've been taking this for 3 days now. Is it just me or does this seem to be an appetite suppressant? Or am I just imagining things. I'm not just not craving sweets, I'm not craving food, which isn't like me at all haha.

You are correct, that is one of the many great properties of Glutamine...and it readily converts to Glutamic Acid in the brain better than Glutamic acid itself.

I like it-I take it every morning and most days at 4:00 pm, because I often get cravings around 5-5:30 when I get home from work.

I take it when I get home from work, about an hour before going to work out. Gives me some energy, reduces appetite. I like to take a Chromium Picolinate along with it to make it a real drug cocktail lol.

I swear by it as well.

I dont take it every day but if I get a hankering for something or I am feeling down or weepy (premenstrual or otherwise) I take one and I perk right up. God's gift to Lo-Carbers!

Hmm.. I'd forgotten about how it's supposed to help with cravings for sweet. Now that I think about it, my sweet tooth is lessened recently since I've been taking L Glutamine more. I normally take it for immune support, muscle repair & injury support help. As I have a hamstring pull that I'm trying desperately to heal, I've been taking it more often lately.

Can anyone tell me where you purchase your L-glutamine? I have tried several drug stores but to no avail. Would appreciate the info.

Glutamine can be found at any health food store..I like taking the powder over buying the capsules..people just don't take enough of it.
