Hi Everyone, I'm a newb, been lurking for a few days now and I thought it was high time I joined!!

My problem:
I am not losing the way I had anticipated. I've been LC-ing since the 21st. Last week I wasn't too strict with what I was eating, just cutting out carbs, but eating a lot of fats and veggies... and I just felt awful and didn't drop any weight!! On Friday, I had been feeling terrible so I ate a Morning Bar (Atkins)-- even though I'd read they hinder weightloss. (And immediately felt better!!)

Over the weekend I ate a lot of cream and bacon and cheese (in an attempt not to "binge"), but nothing not on the list... maybe just too much of some things.

Anyway, This past Sunday, I started entering everything into FitDay.com and it seems like I am eating well. My averages for the last 4 days: 94 grams fat. 94 grams protein and 15 carbs. My caloric intake is about 1373...
Am I just being impatient?
I am still drinking coffee-- but much less. 12 oz/day instead of 24+

I started at 142 on 1/21 and today was 139...

I had l/c'ed in the past and lost about 15 pounds in the first 2-3 weeks!! (3 years ago and generally did eat L/C until about a year ago... and I gained it all back!!)

Below is what I typically eat in a day, the amount aren't given, it;s mainly an "ingredients" list of what I eat... any suggestions?

Egg, whole, boiled
Coffee, made from ground, regular
Olives, green
Chicken or turkey salad
Lettuce, cos or romaine, raw
Cheese, Parmesan, dry grated
Cream, heavy, fluid
Egg, whole, boiled
Ground beef, regular, cooked
Onions, mature, raw
Peppers, sweet, yellow, raw
Chicken, breast, with or without bone, broiled, skin not eaten

Thank you for any input!!!

All your food looks good and to plan - and your loss so far of 3 pounds in 9 days for someone with 30 pounds in total to lose looks good too :cheer:

You askedAm I just being impatient?
Maybe a tad :agree: - see what you feel like and have lost once you have done your 14 days then move to OWL and see what happens.

If you were eating generally lowcarb before restarting induction it might just be that you have very little 'water weight' to lose.

Your weight loss thus far is what you should expect if you were adhering to plan - so the title is incorrect as you are losing! Just think about how well you will do if you stick to plan 100%? Unfortunately, in order to get the best results, you need to be 100% compliant 100% of the time in my opinion.

My suggestion would be to adhere to induction rules 100% and be patient. Honestly, people our size should be very happy with 1-2 pound loss per week. The weight did not come on overnight and we cannot expect it to come off overnight. Plus, you do not want to lose too fast.

I am sure you already know this, but you are limited in terms of the amount of cream (I believe it is 2 Tbsp - check the book) and cheese (3-4 oz) you can have. Further, bacon is loaded with sodium and more often than not, includes carbs from curing it. Stick with what you have on the list and be sure to drink your water!

Good luck! Jill

I agree with everyone....be patient. The closer you are to your body's normal weight the slower you lose on the scale.

Have you measured? I find that when the scale doesn't move the inches do. Hang in there......you are doing a great job. Remember to drink your water and try to stay away from the hidden salt in foods.

I love green olives too but they have a tendency to make me retain water. They are cured in salt and can make me retain water unless I get in my 100 ozs.

It's very hard to adjust to this way of eating and if it takes an occasional bar or overindulgence of cheese or bacon to keep from cheating then so be it. In time it gets easier as your body adjusts so never beat yourself up and DON'T GIVE UP on low-carbing. We are here so vent whenever. HUGS

Linda has some delicious menus for Inductions, just to give you an idea what to eat. I agree with the others though, your being impatient and acutally doing very well.

I think it would be of great benefit if you were to read one of Dr. Atkins' books. There is a lot more information in the books than you will find anywhere online. It is information that might help you follow the plan more accurately. :)

Hi Everyone.
Thanks for the words of wisdom. I was being impatient, I guess. I'm down 6 lbs from my starting weight.
Thanks again!
