Hello Everyone, I am a new member here at the low carber forums and this thread will be only my second thread as an LCer. If you look at my profile, you will see that I have had some success low carbing w/exercise. I have been reading about lectins and found an editorial titled, "Dietary Lectins and Disease" on the web and I will include a link below; http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/318/7190/1023
It appears that there is some research into lectins as the cause of some autoimmune disorders - Information that I had not heard about until now. This is important to me as I suffer from Irritable Bowel due to food intolerances, such as Corn intolerance, Gluten intolerance, Fructose intolerance, lactose intolerance and Candida, etc. I also suffer from low thyroidism. Lectins are found in veggies like tomatos, potatoes, grains, legumes and dairy - perhaps, that is why low carb diets work so well. Please let me know what you think.
