There's nothing in the book about this, obviously. I drink both because of the health benefits. They are homemade, and originally they contain sugar, but the sugar is ate away by the cultures so they are left with very very little sugar. Kombucha is fermented green tea. Water kefir is....well it's fermented water. ;) I would really like to continue drinking both daily, but I don't want it to affect how the SBD works. Any opinions?

I think that the tea is no problem at all. ...what is the kefir water made up of? Does it have any dairy in it?

Nope, no dairy in the water kefir. It's just water, sugar, kefir grains, ginger root, lemon, sultana raisins. You ferment that, strain out the lemon, raisins, ginger, and your left with the water kefir. There's very little amount of sugar left because the kefir grains feed off the sugar. Sounds kinda freaky typing it out

hmmmm, I'd go easy on the kefir water as it has many ingredients that are not phase I friendly. Raisins and grains are not in phase I.
You can put a few drops of lemon in your water...but best to wait to drink this later on when you are well into your phase II.
OK?

They aren't an actual grain. It's.....just a bacteria, but it's called water kefir grains.
