My husband and I are on day 7 and quite happy so far. However, he seems to think that when he eats salty foods (he had a lovely Greek salad into which he put some olives) he really craves more food afterward. I, on the other hand, find that I really want a sweet thing to eat after I finish my lunch (whether or not it was salty!). I will usually just make a cup of tea with soymilk when I have that craving.
Anyone else think that salt makes you crave more food?

sometimes the feeling of THIRST is mistaken for HUNGER. Perhaps after eating salty foods, you all are really feeling THIRST, and instead calling it "hunger". I say try drinking a big glass of water to see if that helps that craving/feeling go away.
Also I'm a fan of sugar free gum (if you can tolerate the sugar alcohols). I have a variety of flavors on my desk at work. The sugar free Extra brand bubble gum is a great fix when i just want "something sweet".

Being that everyone's body is differnent and their responses to foods are different, I'd say that if your husband says he craves more food afterwards, he probably does. I'm like you and will crave something sweet before salty! But, if you know your triggers, try to stay away from them and for your husband, I guess that would be salty foods.

Did your husband have protein other than feta cheese in his Greek salad? I am a salty lover too but when I eat enough protein with a salad, I do not feel hunger after. If he is hungry, he should eat more protein.

I would second the water. I drink 20 oz with every meal and that has helped so much. I think before I used to eat when I was just thirsty.

Lots of great answers and ideas.
We do drink a large glass of water with every meal.
I don't think there was any protein in that salad, to be honest. I'll have to advise him about that.
Thanks for all the great help!
