Starting southbeach tomorrow. My onlu problem is that I hate egg (all kinds). What else would anyone suggest for breakfast. What about the low-carb slim fast shakes (only 4 net carbs)? Any advie would be appreciated.
Thanx, Julie

Flax muffins are good, or flax pancakes. And you can eat pretty much any other food you enjoy from the plan for breakfast--meat, cheese sticks, whatever. I often eat leftovers from last night's dinner for breakfast--this morning I had steak and grilled veggies!

Try to eat a balanced meal with some lean protein, good carbs (veggies, beans, milk, or plain yogurt) and good fats. Anything on the P1 food lists is fair game. Stick to real food. Make some chili tonight and have a bowl for breakfast! :yum: Or how about some LF cottage cheese with chopped tomatoes and green peppers mixed in and a couple slices of canadian bacon with a cup of milk (skim or 1%) or plain yogurt? (You can flavor the yogurt with SF jello powder, SF syrups, flavored extracts, crystal light powder, etc. And cottage cheese is a protein source, not dairy in this case so you can still have the milk or yogurt with it.)

but flax is a grain, and therefore not in phase 1 (right, it is a grain??)
and i agree, any protein plus veggies. A salad? "get through" phase 1.... because I know i"m looking forward to my berry smoothie on occasion for breakfast. BUT that said.. i am "lucky" in that i really like eggs, and so often have hardboiled eggs and celery. GOOD LUCK.

It's in the nut/seed category on the P1 foods list I believe. flax meal is ground flax seeds, so not a grain, although it can be used like one in this case. It does likely use up your nut/seed allowance for the day though, so if you were planning on nuts later in the day, you might have to choose one or the other. Flaxmeal has a lot of healthy benefits though! good stuff maynard!
